Personal care can include assistance with:

 

  • Getting up and to going to bed

  • Washing and dressing

  • Bathing, showering, shaving and hair washing

  • Skincare

  • Applying surgical stockings

  • Continence management

  • Tasks for clients who are bed bound

  • Toileting

  • Catheter care

(services can include hoisting if required)

Clients are encouraged to do as much as possible for themselves, so as to maintain their independence, while we provide all necessary support. Personal care activities are carried out with the dignity of our client as a priority.

Assistance with Medication

Self-administration is encouraged where possible, however trained assistance can of course be provided.

We often provide assistance with:

  • Prompting clients to take their regular medication

  • Nomad Boxes - including Controlled drugs

  • Giving eye drops/ear drops

  • Collecting prescriptions and Nomad Boxes from the chemist

Medication

We often provide assistance with:

  • The preparation of light meals

  • The heating up of pre-prepared meals

  • Feeding (as required)

Independence is always encouraged but we happily provide assistance with meal preparation.

We very commonly work closely with a range of health care professionals in the care of our clients.

As required, we work with professionals such as:

  • General Practitioners

  • District Nurses

  • Care Managers

  • Occupational Therapists

  • Physiotherapists

  • Social Workers

  • Other care agencies
